When the Way You’ve Been Coping Stops Working
You may be keeping up with work, relationships, appointments, and everything else that needs to get done. From the outside, things may even look fine. But privately, you know something has changed.
Maybe you’re more irritable than you used to be. You keep replaying the same thoughts. You avoid things you know need your attention, have a harder time being present with people you care about, or notice that stress follows you even when there is no immediate problem to solve.
Sometimes you know exactly what started it. Other times, you just know that the way you’ve been handling things isn’t working as well anymore.
Therapy can be a place to understand what is happening, look at the patterns underneath it, and work toward changes that actually fit your life.
Meet Mark Flanagan, LCSW, MPH, MA
Mark is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of experience working with adults. His background in social work, public health, and medical anthropology gives him a broad perspective on how emotional health can be affected by physical health, relationships, work, stress, and major changes in life.
His approach is collaborative and tailored to the person in front of him. Rather than relying on one method for everyone, Mark draws from approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brainspotting, mindfulness, and body-based work based on what is most useful for the individual.
A free 30-minute consultation gives you a chance to talk with Mark, ask questions, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit before scheduling your first therapy session.
